Bio

A lifelong Oregonian and ecologist living in Astoria, Graham enjoys learning from and growing with his place, plants and people. His art is inspired by his work in restoration ecology and celebrates the interrelationships within ecosystems. Graham constructs images of these relationships by juxtaposing various forms that illustrate scientific concepts. His work utilizes both traditional media – painting, printmaking, sculpture and ephemeral community public art projects. In one such project, Invasion of Place, he created temporary sculptures from non-native invasive plant material. Graham's work aims to communicate how we can fit into our ecosystems and conserve the beauty of ecological diversity.
